Nick Jonas is busy touring North America in his solo show, but the pop superstar loves the magical moments he is able to spend with his niece, Alena.
“I’m having such a great time with this beautiful little girl,” Jonas told PEOPLE before his concert in the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Florida on Sunday.
Jonas, 23, says Alena, the 19-month-old daughter of his brother Kevin Jonas and sister-in-law Danielle Jonas, is a nice female addition to his family of men.
“We like to walk through a toy store and I buy her whatever she wants,” he says. “She is so sweet. She calls me Uncle Geek because she can’t yet say Nick!”

Ever the doting uncle, he stays in touch with her with the help of FaceTime when he’s out on the road. Meanwhile, his big brother regularly shares photos of the little lady on Instagram.
“I am not around that much because of career demands, but when I get the chance to see Alena, I do like to spoil her,” he explains. “It’s so much fun!”
Jonas says he hopes to have his own children someday when the time is right.
“I would like to have kids, but I’m not ready yet,” he shares. “It’s a beautiful time in my life right now. I am growing. I’m experiencing the next chapter.”
In addition to promoting his latest single “Levels,” preparing for his upcoming album and single and working as an ambassador for Think It Up (a national education initiative supporting innovative teacher-student projects), Jonas has a recurring role in Fox’s new horror spoof Scream Queens.
He likes playing fraternity brother Boone, a character who viewers thought had been killed off in the first show. It was later revealed that he was alive and well.
“I do come back for a couple of episodes,” Jonas says of his role. “My story line will surprise people in a good way.”
Jonas is stoked to see who his fans are now that he has become a one-man band since the Jonas Brothers split in 2013. He says the people who come watch him perform are different from those who flocked to Jonas Brothers concerts.
“They are older people, and I think that’s great,” he tells PEOPLE. “I am learning and growing and able to express my creativity. When I see people connect to me and my music, it makes me very happy.”
